Janet is responsible for leading the development of the Real-Time Rail, the new, 24/7/365 payment system that will facilitate the real-time delivery of low-value payments. Previous to this role, Janet led the delivery of the AFT enhancements and industry adoption of ISO 20022 which are both important elements of Payment Canada’s modernization program.
Janet has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial industry with a strong focus on the clearing and settlement of retail payments including paper processing, electronic payments, and cheque image exchange. Janet previously led the Payments Canada initiative to create a framework of rules and standards for cheque image exchange between Canadian financial institutions. She has presented at a number of industry events including AFP, Women in Payments, SIBOS, and Payments Canada's conference, The Summit.
